Food contact — ROLL position
ROLL pallets, separators, cradles and roll-handling items are designed to handle and ship rolls and reels. They are not intended to come into contact with food.
Not intended for food contact. No ROLL product is designed, marketed or declared as a material or article intended to come into contact with food under Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004.
No migration testing. Products made from virgin polymer have not been tested for migration under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, because they are not intended for food contact. ROLL therefore does not issue food-contact declarations of compliance.
What this means in practice
- Do not use ROLL items in direct contact with unpackaged food.
- ROLL items can be used to handle and ship rolls and reels in plants that serve the food and beverage industry. Whether that use is appropriate in your process is for you to assess under your own hygiene and food-safety procedures.
- The PFAS limits of Article 5(5) of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) concern food-contact packaging only. For all packaging, ROLL declares the heavy-metal limit of Article 5(4) and that PFAS are not intentionally added: see PPWR compliance.
Technical data sheets
Every product page has a downloadable one-page technical data sheet. The "Food contact" line reads "Not intended for food contact" for all items.
