A roll cradle pallet, also known as a reel pallet, is a plastic pallet whose deck is shaped as a cradle, so the roll rests directly on it and stays put without loose wedges, chocks or improvised blocks.

ROLL designs and supplies these pallets for producers and converters of film, paper, foil and other wound materials. Compared with a flat pallet plus wedges, the cradle keeps the roll centred and removes loose parts that get lost or broken. Plastic decks can be cleaned and reused in closed-loop internal transport.

All models accept rolls from Ø 160 mm; maximum diameter, footprint and rolls per pallet vary by model. Roll weight limits are stated on each product page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the roll stable while the pallet is moved?

The cradle keeps the roll centred and stops it from rolling sideways during normal forklift or pallet truck handling. Actual stability depends on roll weight, diameter and width compared with the cradle, so check the limits on each product page.

Do I need to strap the roll?

For short internal moves on a level floor, strapping is often not needed. For road transport, stacking or uneven floors, securing the roll with straps or film is typically recommended, following your own load-securing rules.

Can the pallet go into pallet racking?

Only the models marked “yes” in the Rack column are intended for racking. Suitability for your racking depends on roll weight, beam layout and rack design and must be checked case by case; technical drawings are available on request.

Does it work with AGVs or automated handling?

Models with a 1200×800 mm footprint are typically easier to integrate into automated lines, but compatibility depends on the AGV or conveyor specifications (entry sides, height, deck surface). Drawings for a feasibility check are available on request.

How many times can it be reused?

Plastic roll pallets are made for repeated use in closed loops. The number of cycles depends on roll weight, handling practice and storage conditions, so no fixed figure can be given; damaged pallets should be taken out of service.
