About ROLL: packaging and handling systems for roll producers
ROLL designs reusable packaging and handling systems for companies that produce or convert rolls and reels: flexible packaging film, paper, aluminium foil, nonwovens, textiles and labels. We work on one subject only: how a roll is stored, moved and shipped.
The problem we solve
A roll is heavy, round and easy to damage. On a flat pallet it moves. On nailed wooden battens it meets nails, splinters and dust. On a rack it loads the pallet between two beams. Every production or logistics manager knows the result: marked outer layers, crushed cores, slow loading, complaints from customers. ROLL replaces improvised wooden supports with products shaped for the roll. The roll sits in a cradle, the edges are protected, and the pallet is chosen for the floor or for the rack.
How we work
ROLL is a fabless company. Products are designed in Italy by ROLL and manufactured by partner companies with moulds owned by ROLL. Several solutions are protected by international patents, six to date. Warehouse and operations are in Bernate Ticino, near Milan; the registered office is in Bregnano (Como). The business started in 2012 and has operated as ROLL SNC di Pini Sergio & C. since 2019.
The range
The range follows each step of roll logistics: roll cradle pallets for storage and transport, wedges and chocks that hold a roll on a flat pallet, end plates, flanges and core plugs for shipping, cradles and stackers for stacking, pallet transformers that turn a standard pallet into a roll pallet, and metal rack pallets for heavy or returnable loads. Plain and hygienic plastic pallets complete the offer, together with RECYCLO, the core stripper machine co-developed with GA.VO. Meccanica. Recycled and recyclable options are available.
