Core plugs and end plates: sizes for 3 inch (76 mm) and 6 inch (152 mm) cores

The two core sizes that cover most of the ROLL range are 3 inch (76 mm) and 6 inch (152 mm) inner diameter. Core plugs and end plates are also published for 70 mm, 110 mm and 150 mm cores. Measure the inner diameter of the core first, then choose the plate format from the outer diameter and the weight of the roll.

What is the difference between a core plug and an end plate?

A core plug is inserted into the end of the core. It reinforces the tube end during handling and transport and supports the end plates. The PL-07 fits 165 mm deep inside a 6 inch core.

An end plate, or flange, is a square plastic plate pressed onto each end of the core. The pair holds the roll suspended, without contact with the floor, protects the roll edges and allows stacking. The versions with flaps have stacking wings. The plates are made of recycled PP and the plugs of HDPE.

How do you choose the right size?

• Measure the inner diameter of the core. 76 mm is a 3 inch core, 152 mm is a 6 inch core.
• Compare the outer diameter of the roll with the plate. Each format has a published maximum roll diameter, from 330 mm to 1000 mm.
• Check the weight of the roll against the published maximum load of the format.
• Cores already fitted with end caps? Take a version without plug: FL-06S-152 or FL-07S-152.
• Rolls shipped inside cardboard boxes? The FL-51 lightweight end pads prevent the roll edge from being pressed against the box wall.
