Reinforced plastic pallet 800x1200 for racking: what to check

A plastic pallet 800 × 1200 mm for racking needs a published rack rating, not only a static one. On a rack the pallet is supported only at its edges, so without steel reinforcement the deck bends under a roll. In the ROLL range the PP69, with 3 steel bars, is published as rack-compatible with 1200 kg, and the PPH1 with 1000 kg.

What is the difference between static load and rack load?

The product pages publish two static figures. The first is the load evenly distributed over the whole deck: it comes from the standard test. The second applies when a roll rests on a ROLL cradle, which concentrates the load along a contact line. If you handle reels, the second figure is the one that applies. Neither value is a racking or a dynamic rating. The rack value is published separately.

Which reinforced plastic pallets are published for racking?

Model Format Material Static load, evenly distributed Static load with a roll on a ROLL cradle Rack
PP69 800 × 1200 × 155 mm, 16 kg Recycled PP with 3 steel bars 5000 kg 1500 kg Yes, 1200 kg
PP69-100 1000 × 1200 × 156 mm, 17.5 kg PP with steel bars 5000 kg 1500 kg Yes, 1200 kg
PPH1 800 × 1200 × 160 mm, 19 kg, closed runners Recycled PP 5000 kg 1500 kg Yes, 1000 kg
PP08 800 × 1200 × 140 mm, 19 kg, flat deck Recycled HDPE 5000 kg 1500 kg No: floor and solid shelving

The values are those published on each product page. The PP08 is listed to show that the same static figures do not make a pallet suitable for racking.

What should you check before putting a plastic pallet on a rack?

  • The rack rating. Look for a published rack value, not only the static one.
  • The type of load. A roll is a concentrated load. Use the figure with a roll on a cradle, not the distributed one.
  • The reinforcement. Steel bars prevent the deck from bending between the beams.
  • What sits on top. The PP69 is described as a base for the CV01 and CV02 cradles or for wedges with rubber pads.
  • The rack itself. Verify the beam spacing and the load class of your racking before installation.

When is a roll cradle pallet the better choice?

When the roll must stay on the same pallet from storage to the machine. The LO02 is a roll cradle pallet in HDPE with sealed steel bars, published as rack-compatible up to 1800 kg. The RCV69 combines the PP69 base with the CV02 cradle for rolls up to Ø 1400 mm.

Frequently asked questions

How many kilos does a plastic pallet support?

It depends on how the load is applied. For the PP69 the published values are 5000 kg static evenly distributed, 1500 kg static with a roll on a ROLL cradle, and 1200 kg on a rack.

Can any plastic pallet be placed on racking?

No. On racking the pallet is supported only at its edges, not across its whole base. A pallet rated for floor use is not automatically suitable for racking.

Which roll cradle fits on the PP69?

The product page describes the PP69 as a base for the CV01 and CV02 cradles or for wedges with rubber pads.
